Enzo Maresca receives double injury scare at Chelsea ahead of the new Premier League season
According to ‘Football London’, Premier League side Chelsea‘s right-back Reece James reportedly wore a bandage on one of his calves below the knee area leading into the pre-season friendly fixture against Man City. Before this particular game, James had participated in the Blues’ last three pre-season fixtures while having his right thigh all strapped up.
However, the positive thing for Enzo Maresca and Chelsea was that Reece James played around 80 minutes in their fixture against Man City at the Ohio Stadium. However, the Blues did suffer a daunting loss as City managed to put four goals past them on the night.

When coming to Benoit Badiashille, the player is reported to have a similar bandage strapping on his left leg area in the training session leading to the Man City match. However, the 23-year-old Frenchman did manage to play around 30 minutes.
Interestingly, Badiashille was not on the team sheet initially, but later became part of Maresca’s plans for the day as he replaced new signee Tosin Adrabioyo for the pre-season fixture.
There have been no official updates from Chelsea’s hierarchy regarding the fitness of either Reece James or Badiashille so far. Whether they are suffering from some sort of injury scare at this moment in time or it was just a precautionary measure adopted by both the players leading into the new season, remains to be found out.
