Chelsea Duo Set to Return to Training After Long-term Injuries
Chelsea Football Club is gearing up for a fresh start under new leadership as they prepare for the upcoming season. Ahead of their pre-season training, the Blues are set to welcome back two crucial players who have been sidelined due to long-term injuries.
Lavia and Fofana Return
Romeo Lavia and Wesley Fofana are reportedly ready to rejoin the first-team squad from the beginning of pre-season training next week. Lavia signed for £58 million from Southampton and had a frustrating debut season with Chelsea managing only 32 minutes of play due to persistent injury issues.
Meanwhile, Fofana suffered an ACL rupture early in pre-season last year and also missed the entire previous campaign under former manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Both players have now fully recovered and are eager to impress new head coach Enzo Maresca. Their return marks a significant boost for Chelsea who are looking to bounce back strongly after a challenging season.

Manager’s Perspective
Enzo Maresca who officially started his tenure recently will have a full squad at his disposal as pre-season kicks off on July 8. The early return of Lavia and Fofana signals a positive start to Maresca’s tenure providing him with additional options and depth in midfield and defense.
The duo’s readiness to return to action coincides with Chelsea’s ongoing efforts in the transfer market with the club eyeing Brazilian talent Wesley Gassova among other targets. The Blues are aiming to strengthen their squad further as they prepare for a new era under Maresca’s leadership.
Chelsea fans will be hopeful that the return of Lavia and Fofana alongside new signings will set the stage for a successful campaign ahead in both domestic and European competitions.
