Chelsea confirm Jadon Sancho to train with Enzo Maresca during international break

Sancho joined the Blues on loan from Manchester United…

Chelsea have confirmed that Jadon Sancho will be training with manager Enzo Maresca and his staff during the international break, according to Fabrizio Romano on X. The forward has joined the Blues on loan from Manchester United and hasn’t been called up to England’s squad for this month’s UEFA Nations League games.

Returning from his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, Sancho immediately jumped ships again, joining Chelsea for another loan term away from Manchester United, where his struggles were well-documented. He is yet to make his club debut but Romano has confirmed that Sancho is set to make his first appearance against Bournemouth on 14 September in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old is apparently in good shape and gearing up for his maiden Chelsea game. Following his disappointing return to Dortmund, Sancho’s career was at a crossroads, even getting dropped from England’s squad for Euro 2024, where they finished as the runners-up again. Moving to Stamford Bridge presents him with another chance to revive his fading career.

Struggling Chelsea and struggling Sancho, an unlikely alliance

Jadon Sancho’s struggles has forced him to move again, but to a side that’s struggling too. Besides the 6-2 drubbing of Wolves on matchday two, Chelsea haven’t really impressed, with consistency once again proving to be a big issue. On either side of that win, the Blues have dropped points – to Manchester City in a 2-0 loss on the opening day and a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace last weekend.
