Chelsea can’t find buyers for outcast Ben Chilwell
Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell has been deemed surplus to Enzo Maresca’s requirements in the ongoing season and has asked the defender to leave the club in order to garner regular first-team football. The 27-year-old defender is contracted with Chelsea until the summer of 2027.
The England international was reportedly offered to Man Utd but the club have now rejected an approach for Chilwell and are exploring a move for his teammate Raheem Sterling.
The report also explains that Chilwell’s salary of £200,000 a week is proving to be a stumbling block and the left-back would have to take a pay cut in order to sanction a move.
