Carlo Ancelotti set to stick with winning formula for Real Madrid’s La Liga opener

Carlo Ancelotti is expected to maintain the same starting lineup that secured Real Madrid‘s victory in the UEFA Super Cup, when they face Mallorca in their La Liga season opener.

The veteran manager seems poised to keep faith in the XI that delivered success just days ago, as reported by MARCA.

Real Madrid are heading into a season packed with high expectations and opportunities with six potential titles on the line.

But, the team also faces the challenge of filling the void left by the departure of Toni Kroos and gradually integrating new young talents like Arda Guler, Endrick, and Brahim Diaz.

Ancelotti and his trust in consistency

In the Super Cup final, Ancelotti’s selections paid off handsomely. Thibaut Courtois stood firm in goal, while the defensive line of Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, Antonio Rudiger, and Ferland Mendy provided a solid foundation.

The midfield, even without the injured Eduardo Camavinga, was expertly managed by Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Jude Bellingham. Up front, the attacking trio of Rodrygo, Kylian Mbappe, and Vinicius Júnior caused havoc for their opponents.

Ancelotti has a history of sticking to a consistent lineup, especially at the start of the season. Last season, he rarely deviated from his preferred XI making only minor adjustments when necessary.

This approach is likely to continue as Real Madrid look to build early momentum in La Liga.

But, Ancelotti will need to manage his squad carefully over the long season. While the current starting eleven has proven effective, there are several players who will need to be gradually introduced into the lineup.

The likes of Endrick, who is yet to make his debut and others who saw limited minutes in the Super Cup will need playing time to develop and contribute to the team’s success as the season progresses.
