“Can talk as much” – Erling Haaland takes a major jibe at Liverpool’s Trent Alexander Arnold
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has laid down the marker ahead of the top-of-the-table Premier League clash against Liverpool on Sunday (Mar 11). The two teams are all set to meet at Anfield as the three-way title race involving Arsenal will have a decisive week. Ahead of the high-voltage clash, Haaland has made his intentions clear and wants the talking to be done on the field and pointed a finger at Trent Alexander-Arnold and his comments.
Erling Haaland on Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold’s comment
“Liverpool can talk as much as they want, or Trent Alexander-Arnold can talk as much as he wants… I don’t know why he does that, but I don’t mind,” Haaland on Liverpool while speaking to Sky Sports on Thursday.
Earlier speaking to Four Four Two, Alexander-Arnold took a dig at Manchester City and their model of success. According to him Liverpool’s trophies and fanbase mean a lot than City’s spending which has seen them attract big players and win several honours.
“It’s difficult. You’re up against a machine that’s built to win – that’s the simplest way to describe City and their organization. Looking back on this era, although they’ve won more titles than us and have probably been more successful, our trophies will mean more to us and our fanbase because of the situations at both clubs, financially. How both clubs have built their teams and the manner in which we’ve done it probably means more to our fans.”
