Breaking: Everton forward ‘on his way’ to Ligue 1’s Marseille
According to ‘Fabrizio Romano‘ on ‘X’ (formerly ‘Twitter’), Premier League club Everton’s forward Neal Maupay is set to join the Ligue 1 side Marseille FC.
Maupay will be moving to Marseille in a loan deal that contains an obligation to buy. The French club will reportedly pay the Toffees an initial loan amount of €500k for the striker’s services throughout the 2024-25 season. After that, the obligation to buy clause will kick in which as per Romano is staged at €5.5 million.
However, the deal will include potential add-ons circling around €3 million as well. Further to conclude the financial agreement of the transfer, Everton will hold a 20 percent sell-on clause in any future transfer deal for Neal Maupay by Marseille.
‘Fabrizio Romano’ has laid out that, the French player is ‘on his way’ to complete his medical at the Ligue 1 club.
