Brazil vs Peru Preview

  • Tournament: FIFA World Cup Qualification
  • Date: 16th October 2024
  • Time: 12:15 AM GMT
  • Venue: Arena BRB Mane Garrincha, Brasilia

Brazil will take on Peru in round ten of the CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers in a bid to strengthen its position in the table. This match will be an opportunity for both teams to finish their October international stretch on a friendly note. Brazil has been a team, which has been feared by many in the international arena but its recent performances have not depicted the same. Brazilian national team coach, Dorival Junior will be under pressure after some disappointing performances in the earlier break. They secured a last-minute victory against Chile after Botofago forward Luiz Henrique scored the winner in the Chilean capital on Thursday.

On the other hand, Peru were not looking so good throughout the qualifiers but they had pulled out a surprise against the in-form Uruguay national team. They registered a crucial win and were able to prevent Uruguay even from scoring. This victory was Peru’s first competitive victory in two years since two years. Currently, they are just five points away from the qualifying place but their is enough time to recover and build on what performance they have given in the last week.

Brazil manager, Dorival Junior will be without the services of Lucas Paqueta as he received a suspension in the last game which triggered a suspension. He will most probably be replaced by Bruno Guimares. Igro Jesus, who had scored in his debut game might feature again as a starter and Henrique might also be given an opportunity to further ignite his stakes in the first team.

Vinicius Junior and Alisson are not available due to injury and will be expected to be fit before November’s international break.

Key Players To Watch Out For in Brazil vs Peru

Rodrygo (Brazil)

The Brazilian attacker has been an important player in the squad and in the absence of star forward Vinicius Junior he needs to take responsibility. He has so far scored three goals and assisted once during the World Cup qualifiers. In the final game of the international break, the team would have high hopes for him to do wonders and take his team closer to qualification

Miguel Araujo (Peru)

Last game he was a superstar for the Peru national team. Apart from scoring the winning goal, he pulled a defensive brilliance to deny the likes of Federico Valverde and Darwin Nunez from scoring. He is also likely to be given the opportunity to stop the likes of Raphinha, Rodrygo, and Savinho.

Brazil vs Peru Prediction

Considering both the team’s last performances, Peru seems to have the upper hand as it comes into this fixture with a winning momentum while Brazil has nearly snatched a victory which would have settled for a draw if it was not for Luiz Henrique. Brazil returning to its old flavours will be special to watch and then it will be a cakewalk for them to strengthen their hopes for a World Cup qualification.

Predicted Score: Brazil 3-2 Peru
