Bournemouth will host Everton in their first Premier League clash of 2025 on Saturday at the Vitality Stadium. Both sides have had a contrasting season so far and will look to start off the year well.

The Cherries sit seventh in the standings, five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea. They have eight wins, six draws and five defeats at the half-way stage of the season and are looking to qualify for Europe next season.

Everton, meanwhile, are yet again battling relegation. They are 16th at the halfway stage, just two points above 18th-placed Ipswich Town. They have three wins, eight draws and seven defeats in their 19 league games so far.

Both sides have different aims but will be desperate for three points on Saturday. Both have also put up some notable results this season like Bournemouth beating Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester City. Meanwhile, Everton played out three straight draws against Arsenal, City and Chelsea.

Key Players to watch in Bournemouth vs Everton

Antoine Semenyo

Antoine Semenyo (Image credits: Twitter)

The Ghana international joined Bournemouth from Bristol City in January 2023 and has become a key player for them. He has scored 14 goals and provided four assists in 66 games across competitions.

Semenyo has been in great form this season, in particular, recording five goals and two assists in 18 Premier League games. However, his form has dipped in recent games with just two goals and one assist in 12 previous games. He provided a key assist for Dango Ouattara’s 89th-minute equalizer in their 2-2 draw against Fulham in their last game. He will hope to build on that against Everton.

Iliman Ndiaye

The Senegal international joined Everton from Olympique Marseille in the summer of 2024 and has been one of the few bright sparks for them this season. He has scored four goals in 20 games across competitions.

With three goals in 18 Premier League games, he is Everton’s joint-top scorer with Dwight McNeil. The latter is also the Toffees’ top assist provider. However, if he’s unavailable for the game, Everton will look towards Ndiaye to provide some creativity and goals.

Bournemouth vs Everton Prediction

Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last seven games across competitions with four wins and three draws. However, they have just one win in their last four games. They drew 1-1 against West Ham United, beat Manchester United 3-0 and then drew 0-0 against Crystal Palace and 2-2 against Fulham.

Everton, meanwhile, have just one defeat in their last five games. They hammered Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-0 and then got three impressive results in a row. They drew 0-0 against Arsenal and Chelsea before drawing 1-1 against Manchester City. They then, however, lost 2-0 against Nottingham Forest in their last match.

Bournemouth have the home advantage but also have a lot of injuries. Everton, meanwhile, despite their recent decent results, have struggled to put in impressive displays, especially without Dwight McNeil.

However, seeing the Cherries’ inconsistency, a draw cannot be ruled out for the match.

Predicted Score: Bournemouth 1-1 Everton
