2. Pokemon emerald (GBA)

Pokemon Emerald is an improved version of Ruby and Sapphire; as one might imagine, it was more evolution than revolution. It added some new story elements to the Hoenn region, updated the locations where you could catch certain Pokemon, allowed you to see a larger pool of Pokemon than its predecessors, and introduced the Battle Frontier, a competition island you can visit after defeating the Elite Four to earn badges, buy items, and learn new moves to teach your Pokemon.
