10. Claudio Ranieri (13 Jul, 2015- 23 Feb, 2017)

When the conversation is about the greatest Leicester City manager, Claudio Ranieri is a name every fan will remember. After the defeat Greece had to endure in the hands of Faroe Island, he was appointed as the Foxes manager.

Upon his arrival, nobody had any clue that they will win the Premier League. And reasonably so because of the poor escape last season. Every football fan remembers the magic in the Premier League that season. Managing the likes of Napoli, Fiorentina, and others, Claudio was simply at the right place at the right time.

From the International Champions Cup callup to winning the group in Champions League, the fans had a treat during the tenure of the manager. Unfortunately, poor league performance followed up to his departure from the Club.

9. Mike Stowell (23 Feb, 2017- 01 Jun, 2017)

In addition to his short tenure from 24th February 2019, Mike also led the Foxes from 23rd February 2017, almost 2 years before. He ran the team after the departure of the legendary Claudio Ranieri.

8. Craig Shakespeare (23 Feb, 2017- 17th Oct, 2017)

If we are to talk about the history books, Craig will be remembered by the Foxes’ fans for centuries. He managed to take the Foxes to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. He finished that season rather well. But as the new season started, the City had to face tough games at the very beginning.

After his poor performance, Craig left the squad on 17th Oct. The team was then handled by Appleton until Claude Puel arrived.

7. Michael Appleton (17 Oct, 2017- 25th Oct, 2017)

Another one of the weird managerial tenures in the club was with Michael Appleton. Following the departure of Craig Shakespeare, he was appointed as rather a caretaker manager for just two games. And he won both of those games before leaving the club. Following his departure, the club underwent a squad restructure.

6. Claude Puel (25th October 2017- 24 Feb, 2019)

The ex-Southampton manager joined the Foxes at 25th October. Leicester City were in 14th position before his arrival at the Club. Before his managerial tenure at Southampton, Claude spent most of his footballing and coaching career in France. In his playing career, he has won many League titles and League cups.

Following his playing career at the Club, Claude stayed there as trainer. He become the first team manager at Monaco in 1999. With his first game being a 2-0 victory against the Toffees, he started his reign with the best foot forward. His signings has made the club strong. Despite of all that, he left the club on 24th February 2019.

5. Mike Stowell (24th February, 2019- 27th February, 2019)

Probably the shortest tenure in the list today. We already mentioned before that some of the managerial reigns are nothing but weird. As you can guess, Mike was appointed on 24th February 2019 as the Foxes manager and he was the coach until 27th February, that is before the announcement of Brendan Rodgers came in. Irrespective of this, Stowell is considered as the rock of the Leicester City.

4. Brendan Rodgers (27th February 2019- 02 April 2023)

Brendan Rodgers’ tenure in the Club has been exceptional. In his managerial reign, Leicester City won both the Emirates FA Cup and the FA Community Shield. Joining the Foxes on 27th February, 2019, the manager had qualified for European competition twice.

That being said, his achievements are not limited in Premier Leagues. During his tenure at Glasgow, he had a 69-game unbeaten run. He even won every single domestic cup in the Scotland. Everything was working perfectly until it was the 2022 World Cup when Leicester City started onto a horrendous run in the League.

When Brendan left the club, the Foxes were at 19th position. Dean Smith was appointed as the manager but he failed on the relegation battle despite of so much effort.

3. Dean Smith (11 April 2023- 30 June 2023)

The short tenure of Dean Smith was agreed upon the departure of Brendan Rodger’s departure from the Club. He arrived at the Foxes when they were sitting at 19th in the Premier League Table. Despite his dire attempts, methodologies, and having experience handling Premier League clubs before, Leicester City fell two points short, which saw them being relegated from the tournament. He left the club on 30th June 2023.

2. Enzo Maresca (1st July 2023- 20th June 2024)

The Italian Manager will always be famous in the books of Leicester City. He arrived at the club on 1st July 2023. He gave the Foxes their 8th Sky Bet Championship. Due to him working side-by-side with Pep Guardiola at City and helping them win the Premier League and the European trophies, the hopes were high for him set by the fans. And he delivered.

Working with the likes of Marcello Lippi, Pep Guardiola, and Carlo Ancelotti, his tactics and approach to a game along with the right decisions with signings, he has indeed turned the fortunes of Leicester City. Staying true to his ideologies, the Italian has made the groundwork before his departure on 20th June 2024.

1. Steve Cooper (Present Manager)

On 20th June 2024, Steve Cooper was employed for his services at Leicester City. Following the promotion from the Sky Bet Championship. The Club have high hopes of getting their place back in the top 4 of the Premier League Table. The board believed there was no one better than Steve Cooper to help them get back to the glory days.

Both the footballing player and manager career for the Welshman started with Wrexham FC. However, the newly appointed coach for the Foxes has honed his skills on his tenure at Liverpool during 2008 and 2014. He has managed the Red’s academy and has trained the likes of Raheem Sterling and other promising talents during that time.

He has many International moments including leading the under-17 squad of England back in the 2017 World Cup India. With his arrival at the Kings Power Stadium, will the Foxes get back to the top of the table?
