Bayern Munich 1-0 PSG: Player Ratings as Kim Min-Jae Shines in a Crucial UCL Win

Bayern Munich have edged past PSG in the UEFA Champions League and made things harder for the Ligue1 side. The Bundesliga club got a 1-0 win at home thanks to the lone goal from Kim Min-Jae.

PSG are now in a tough situation as they sit 25th in the table and could fall further down if the teams below them pick up points on Wednesday. With three games left in the league stage, they will need to pick up wins to make it to the knockout stage.

Bayern Munich have moved to 11th with the win and they will be hoping to push on and climb higher.

Goalkeeper

Manuel Neuer – 8: He was happy to play at the half line while Bayern had possession of the ball. He intercepted a pass from his defenders to launch Davies on the left to win in the second half.

Defenders

Konrad Laimer – 6: The defender was decent today but made things harder for himself by trying too much. Kept Barcola quiet and never put a foot wrong in defending.

Dayot Upamecano – 7: Decent performance but hardly had anything to do in defense. He was more involved in keeping possession than stopping attacks.

Min-Jae Kim – 8.5: Scored the all-important goal today and was brilliant from start to end. Never shied away from ball and controlled possession.

Alphonso Davies – 7.5: Up and down the left flank but his biggest contribution was getting Dembele sent off. Minimal contact, but he made the most of it.

Midfielders

Joshua Kimmich – 8: A masterclass in midfield and the German showed why he is still regarded as one of the best in the world. Commanded the pitch and was ready to move about to keep his side ahead.

Leon Goretzka – 7: Not his best performance but it was acceptable as he has not played a lot this season. Just not enough to force his way back into the starting XI regularly.

Leroy Sané – 7.5: Got into the right positions but fumbled a lot in the final third. Kept trying to score, but never managed to get close.

Jamal Musiala – 6: Rather poor by his standards today and should have done a lot more. He had a golden chance to double the lead, but misjudged the ball completely.

Kingsley Coman – 7.5: Similar to Sane, as he too got into the right positions but never managed to get on the scoresheet.

Forward

Harry Kane – 6: Started as a forward but was playing deeper than Musiala at times. He never managed to get involved in the game and had just one shot, which was blocked easily.

Substitutes

Michael Olise – 6.5

Serge Gnabry – 5

Thomas Müller – 6

Manager

Vincent Kompany – 6: Substitutions were too late, and looked scared about losing the lead.

Goalkeeper

Matvey Safonov – 7.5: PSG’s best player on the pitch today and that shows how poor they were. He made 6 saves and helped keep the scoreline respectable.

Defenders

Achraf Hakimi – 6: Got booked and was outclassed by Coman more often than not. Never looked comfortable on the pitch.

Marquinhos – 6.5: Spotted arguing with the referee, than on the ball. Kept getting drawn out of position by Harry Kane.

Willian Pacho – 7: Best PSG defender today as he was doing well to spot the runs. However, he did not get the helped needed from his teammates.

Nuno Mendes – 6.5: Decent performance compared to the others, but just not enough to get them the win today.

Midfielders

Warren Zaïre-Emery – 6: Tried too much and that did not help his team. He was isolated at times and every time he got on the ball, Davies was on his toes.

Vitinha – 7: One of the best outfielders today for PSG and he tried his best to get them back in the game. However, there was vert little he could do on his own with the lack of effort around him.

João Neves – 6.5: The youngster keeps impressing but just could not get enough done today. He was looking to shoot from range, but Neuer was hardly threatened.

Fabián Ruiz – 7: One of the better PSG players today but he hardly got on the ball. He helped out defensively more than in attack, something he should have done a lot more of.

Forwards

Ousmane Dembélé – 3: Picked up a yellow card for nothing in the first half as he argued with the referee during a corner. Then lunged to win the ball and Davies made the most of it to get him a second yellow.

Bradley Barcola – 5: Played 72 minutes today but hardly got on the ball. It affected PSG and no one was a threat up front, nor creating chances.

Substitutes

Kang-in Lee – 7

Gonçalo Ramos – 6

Marco Asensio – 6

Manager

Luis Enrique – 5: Team selection was iffy and then the substitutions were even worse. While Kang-In Lee impressed, none of the others seem to be given the right instructions.
