Thomas Tuchel gives Bayern Munich injury update ahead of Real Madrid clash
The Bavarians have relinquished the Bundesliga title for the first time in 12 years and will solely focus on the Champions League before Thomas Tuchel clears out his Bayern locker.
Latest Bayern Munich injury update
The German side has been hit with more injury concerns ahead of their semi-final tie against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. During Bayern’s game against Eintracht Frankfurt, both Matthijs de Ligt and Konrad Laimer sustained an injury and were forced off the game as a precaution.
After the win against Frankfurt, Tuchel shared some concerning news as the Bavarians prepare to host Real Madrid for a semi-final first leg on April 30.
“Konny Laimer has twisted his ankle and has a capsule injury. Matthijs de Ligt has a ligament injury in his knee,” he stated.
Bayern’s squad heading into Tuesday’s clash is not looking great, considering that Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane, and Kingsley Coman are not 100% but Tuchel believes both Gnabry and Sane will be fit to face Carlo Ancelotti’s men.
The German tactician has also shown concerns over midfielder Jamal Musiala who has been ruled out with a tendon problem.
“He can’t play. He really wanted to play, we really wanted him to play. He had two days without pain and felt it again yesterday. It’s a tendon irritation that is really hindering him. He had to stop training yesterday, now we’re giving it our all for Tuesday,” Tuchel added.
Bayern Munich could be at a disadvantage come Tuesday, casting doubt on the availability of several players against Real Madrid.
