Bayern Munich eye summer move for Man United skipper Bruno Fernandes
Bruno Fernandes transfer speculation starts as German giants Bayern Munich have reportedly opened talks with Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes over a possible summer move. New Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany is keen to add a few stars this summer and has already set his sights on Bruno Fernandes.
Will Bruno Fernandes seek an exit from Manchester United?
Fernandes’ agent Miguel Pinho has reached out to Bayern last week following a disappointing season at Manchester United. Since joining the club in January 2020, Fernandes has been a key player for the Red Devils from the time he joined the club and this season, he has made 28 goal contributions across all competitions
Man United witnessed one of their disastrous seasons in the Premier League, as they finished eighth got knocked out of the Champions League group before Christmas and failed to reach the Round of 16.
The Red Devils had a poor season according to their standards, and a major squad overhaul is expected in the summer transfer window. But it is no surprise that Bayern is keen to sign the 29-year-old Portuguese.
Fernandes has been one of the consistent performers in the Premier League over the past few seasons and his creativity and vision will make him a valuable asset for any club. His agent has been in discussions with some top European clubs even though United are reluctant to part ways with their best player.
His contract with the Red Devils expires in the summer of 2026, so United won’t be forced to sell their most valuable player to any interested parties.
Even transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano has shed light on recent rumours circling around Fernandes’ future.
“Man United and INEOS really want to continue with Bruno and Bruno has always been super committed,” Romano told GiveMeSport.
“The idea of the player has always been to stay at Manchester United and continue to fight for the badge and the club. He wants to help them win titles in the future. They feel really, really good together.”
United are gearing up for a solid summer to get back to the top of English football once again. Selling one of their most valuable assets would be an unwise decision by the Man United hierarchy.
But Manchester United will be involved in a tough battle this summer to keep their club captain.
