Barcelona speed up the paper work so Dani Olmo can play against Athletic Bilbao
Dani Olmo had to wait longer for his debut with Barcelona in La Liga after missing the club’s first league game against Valencia. Apart from Barca, manager Hansi Flick, felt it was too early for him to play due to limited preparation, and Blaugrana had not finished the administration process.
Prior to the second league game against Athletic Bilbao, the management is speeding up the process so Olmo could at least play this time. The Catalonia native returned to his boyhood club after spending 10 years abroad, playing for Dinamo Zagreb and RB Leipzig.
Barcelona race in time with the transfer issue
According to Sport45, Olmo is not the only player whose administration process is being worked on at the moment. It is also reported that Barcelona pushed for a finalisation of Mikayil Faye as both players share the same agent.
Barcelona is strictly careful with the cash balance as the club struggling with financial issues for the past few years. Selling some players would be good for the business with Barca having several potential names to put on the list.
Currently, the likes of Ilkay Gundogan and Vitor Roque are favoured to be on the list and the club is estimated to gain around 13 million euros if a deal happens. However, such an amount of money is not enough to cover the whole thing.
Gundogan is said to be the latest “victim” of Frenkie De Jong in the midfield, while Roque is also struggling with playing minutes. The latter is reported to be loaned to Real Betis, while a return to Manchester City has been circling around on the social media for Gundogan.
