Barcelona eye Rashford as Manchester United faces crucial Transfer decision
Barcelona are reportedly making a move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford as they seek to strengthen their attacking options under new manager Hans Flick.
After a less-than-convincing 2-1 win against Valencia in their La Liga opener Flick is eager to fill the void on the left wing despite the recent £47 million signing of Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig.
Rashford who has struggled to find form recently managed just eight goals in over 40 games last season and has yet to score in the new campaign.
His dip in performance led to his omission from Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024 with Southgate citing better performances from other players.
Flick is said to admire Rashford’s ability to dribble and cut in from the left seeing him as a perfect fit for Barcelona’s system.
But Rashford is still seen as a crucial player by United’s Erik ten Hag, making any potential transfer a significant decision for the club. With his contract running until 2028 United’s management including Sir Jim Ratcliffe must weigh the benefits of retaining or selling the 26-year-old forward.
