Atletico Madrid 2-1 RB Leipzig Player Ratings as Antonie Griezmann turn the catalyst to power a comeback for the Rojiblancos

Atletico Madrid secured their first victory at the Wanda Metropolitano after a late strike from Jose Maria Gimenez snatched a 2-1 comeback victory against RB Leipzig in their Champions League opener. Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko just took four minutes to net a rebound which put his team in the lead.

Antonie Griezmann levelled the score at the 28th minute after a well-constructed move where Llorente’s low cross into the box from the wing and an unmarked Griezmann produced a fine finish with a volley. In the stoppage time, it was Griezmann again but with an assist as he whipped in an excellent cross into the box, which was met by Gimenez at the far post to put it past Peter Gulacsi.
