Atletico Madrid open talks to sign Jan Oblak replacement

Atletico Madrid are reportedly set to sign Walter Benítez from PSV as their new goalkeeper. The Spanish side are looking to sign him with the future of Jan Oblak in the balance.

As per a report by Fabrizio Romano, Benitez is seen as the ideal replacement for Oblak, who is reportedly not seen as a key player at the club anymore.

Benitez was in fine form for PSV last season and conceded just 19 goals in the season. The Argentine has won the Dutch Cup in 2023 with the Eredivisie side, while also winning the Dutch Super Cup in 2023 and 2024. PSV have set sights on signing Timon Wellenreuther as the replacement.
