Athletic Club 2-1 Real Madrid: Player Ratings as Bellingham Scores but Mbappé Misses a Penalty in a Disappointing Defeat for Los Blancos

Athletic Club hosted Real Madrid at the Estadio San Mames in LaLiga on December 4 and secured a 2-1 win courtesy of a late goal against their rivals.

The first half was a cagey affair despite Real Madrid dominating possession with 61% of the ball. However, they lacked accuracy in front of the goal as none of their three shots were on target. Athletic Club managed just one shot on target from four attempts as the teams were tied 0-0 at the break.

Alex Berenguer fired the hosts into the lead eight minutes after the restart as Athletic Club made a strong start to the second period. Kylian Mbappe then saw his penalty saved by the goalkeeper, but Jude Bellingham levelled the game 10 minutes later in the 78^th minute.
