Atalanta eye Federico Chiesa as replacement for Ademola Lookman
Atalanta are plotting a sensational move for Juventus’ Federico Chiesa in the remaining days of the transfer window. The Italian club is preparing for life beyond star forward, Ademola Lookman who has demanded a move away. Lookman was not a part of the squad against Lecce on matchday one whilst attracting interest from several top European clubs. Chiesa has been put on the transfer list by the Old Lady, which has alerted Atalanta to make a swift move.
The Italian winger can be a wonderful market opportunity for the reigning UEFA Europa League winners. Chiesa’s pace, finishing prowess, and strength are already well-documented. Thiago Motta, though, has not included the 26-year-old in the plans for his Juventus squad. Chiesa’s injury and fitness woes have been a constant hurdle in his quest to become an undisputed starter in Turin.

According to TuttoAtalanta, Ademola Lookman’s departure is now only a matter of time, leading Atalanta to look for potential options to replace the Nigerian. Giacomo Raspadori and Romelu Lukaku are also on the club’s wishlist, but Chiesa‘s name remains the strongest link. His high salary will undoubtedly be an issue but Lookman’s exit should be able to finance the needs.
Barcelona to rival Atalanta for Federico Chiesa’s signing
Atalanta’s ambitious pursuit of Federico Chiesa might be handed a massive blow due to the interest of FC Barcelona in the player. The Catalans are moving forward from the Nico Williams case and the Italian presents a financially affordable alternative. Sporting director, Deco has confirmed the club’s plan to welcome more signings in the window and has already initiated contact with the agent of Federico Chiesa.
The Juventus man is reportedly open to a move to the Camp Nou and is demanding a contract till 2028. Barcelona can expect to complete the signing on a relatively cheap deal due to Juventus’ desire to offload the player this summer as opposed to losing him for free in 12 months. It remains to be seen whether the transfer will materialise further in the closing days of the market.
