AS Monaco 2-4 Paris Saint-Germain Player Ratings as Les Parisiens come out on top in a thrilling encounter at the Stade Louis II
In what was a big game by all means at the top of the Ligue 1 table, AS Monaco welcomed the league leaders Paris Saint-Germain. Whilst the Parisiens have already built up a huge gap at the top, there is still some ways to go in the season and Monaco was certainly looking to do what they could to rain on PSG’s all-singing and dancing form.
Initially, the game started off as how many would have expected. Both sides held up each other well but Paris Saint-Germain went ahead after a relatively easy breakaway. The second half saw Monaco come in with some fire, grabbing the equalizer and then going ahead. However, a few substitutions saw the visitors wrestle the lead back in their favor, before delivering a late blow to seal the deal.
All in all the game made for an exciting watch, especially in the second half, with goals flying in at either end. That said, the Monaco attackers made a solid case for themselves on the night whilst PSG proved their title credentials once again.
AS Monaco Player Ratings vs PSG
Goalkeeper
Philipp Köhn: 7.5/10- Had a superb showing, managing to keep out the PSG attackers for large parts of the games. Stayed upto the task on numerous occasions and made some big saves to keep his side in the game. Was slightly hard done by his defence for the goals he conceded.
Defenders
Vanderson: 7/10- Had some bright moments on the ball, driving forward. Struggled at times defensively but managed to hold his own on many occasions as well. Despite being beaten, he was not one to give up and won many of his duels.
Mohammed Salisu: 6/10- Poor on a number of occasions, especially under pressure at times failing to recognize danger. Still, was the one that did a lot of cleaning up at the back and stuck in during difficult moments.
Thilo Kehrer: 6/10- Absent during key moments and lacking with his defensive awareness at times as well. Needed to step up in difficult moments for his team but was always somehow late to the scene.
Wilfried Singo: 5.5/10- Had a rough showing on the right side of the defense today, struggling heavily in the first half, and picking up a needless yellow as well. Fared much better in the second half, managing to keep up with his man a lot better.
Midfielders
Soungoutou Magassa: 7/10- Slightly erratic at times with the ball at his feet. Clearly had the vision to look for his teammates in good positions but his execution was off the mark many a time. Regardless, he still managed to get some of his long balls through and was undoubtedly a force in midfield with his interceptions and tackles.
Lamine Camara: 6.5/10- Active and willing to get stuck in midfield and at times was on the border with his behavior and some of his decision-making. Still, added some much-needed steel in midfield and was decent in possession as well.
Eliesse Ben Seghir: 6.5/10- Grew into the game after a difficult first half. Got involved in the play a lot more and stepped up to take the penalty and dispatched it expertly. Tussled and tugged in the midfield a lot but managed to keep things running smoothly for the most part.
Attackers
Aleksandr Golovin: 7/10- Caused a lot of problems to the PSG defense, drifting in from the left into spaces that baited players out and created spaces in behind. Was often the initiator for a lot of the attacks and an important part of the attack overall.
Maghnes Akliouche: 8/10- Was a bright spark for the Monaco attack throughout and was well involved in most of their attacks in both halves. Found himself on the left and utilized the opportunity to fire in a beautiful cross for Embolo. Despite not notching up contributions was absolutely dazzling in the second half and almost unplayable at times.
Breel Embolo: 7/10- Had a lot of missed efforts in the first half and did not seem composed at all while hitting his shots. That said, he did well to fix up in the second half and deliver Monaco’s second goal of the night.

Manager
Adolf Hütter: 6.5/10- Showed great prowess and effect with how he managed to fire up his side for the second half. Needed a little more composure himself but his anger was understandable considering some referee decisions and that he was massively let down by his defense on the night.
Paris Saint-Germain Player Ratings vs AS Monaco
Goalkeeper
Gianluigi Donnaruumma: 7/10- Made some cracking saves and was very brave in the way he came to collect some of the balls. Was very unfortunate with the injury which happened when he clashed with Singo.
Defenders
João Neves: 7/10- Started at left-back and seemed extremely comfortable in the role despite his short time getting adapted to it. Played a few brilliant through balls from there and when he was moved into midfield. Managed to get involved in the first goal as well.
Willian Pacho: 6.5/10- Struggled at times during the second half but was also solid on a number of occasions. Did not have any standout moments during the game but was a busy man in defense throughout.
Marquinhos: 6/10- Resolute at the back with his defending and leadership. Was progressive with the ball at his feet and was a threat during set pieces, getting his head to some well-delivered crosses. Faded massively in the second half which put his team in a difficult spot.
Achraf Hakimi: 7.5/10- A bit of a menace offensively, which was mostly where he was present. Interchanged well with Dembele and bombed forward with dangerous intent, be it with his shots from a distance or his cutbacks with which he assisted PSG’s first goal.
Midfielders
Vitinha: 7/10- Was a constant fixture in the heart of PSG’s midfield, contributing well to the buildup. Excellent and effective in possession and kept things ticking from the base, finding himself at the edge of the opponent’s box at times as well.
Warren Zaïre-Emery: 6.5/10- Started in midfield but was shifted to left-back for quite some time where he very clearly struggled once Monaco grew into the game. Played much better once back in midfield and was very noticeable with his actions in and out of possession.
Fabián Ruiz: 7/10- Kept things running from the middle of the park, often linking up with the attackers. Had a few efforts of his own from range but was largely unable to threaten the Monaco goal too much.
Attackers
Ousmane Dembélé: 8/10- Had a solid performance across the entire front line and delivered some sumptuous crosses from corners as well. Was in and out of the game at times but when on the ball looked like one of the more dangerous players on the pitch. Did well to poach his goal, early in the second half and apply the finishing blow with his second later on.
Désiré Doué: 7/10- Was brilliant at times and quite lively during the game in spells. Took his goal well in the first half but seemingly struggled in the second when he was shifted out to the left.
Bradley Barcola: 7/10- Had a good on the left flank for the most part, managing to get the better of his man a few times. Was a constant threat and linked up well with his fellow attackers. Could have easily stayed on for longer in the second half.
