Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe Moves to Fulham for Club-Record Fee
Fulham have made headlines by signing Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal for a club-record fee of £34 million.
The 24-year-old has committed to a five-year deal with an optional extension for an additional year. The transfer’s initial cost is £27 million with potential add-ons bringing the total to £34 million.
Smith Rowe who joined Arsenal’s academy at the age of 10 made his first-team debut in 2018 and became a key squad member by 2020.
Despite amassing 115 appearances and 18 goals for the Gunners his progress was hampered by persistent fitness issues leading to limited playing time last season.
After a frustrating season with only three Premier League starts Smith Rowe looks to rejuvenate his career at Fulham.
He becomes the club’s second signing of the transfer window following Ryan Sessegnon’s return. The Cottagers are also eyeing Manchester United’s Scott McTominay.
In his first interview with FFCtv Smith Rowe expressed his excitement:
“I’m really happy for me and my family—it’s a good moment. I’m excited to get going with my teammates.”
