Arsenal target Martin Zubimendi reaffirms desire to stay at Real Sociedad

With Robin Le Normand and Mikel Merino all but confirmed leaving La Liga club Real Sociedad this summer, their star midfielder Martin Zubimendi has reassured fans that he won’t be leaving the club this summer.

In a recent interview, he told El Diario Vasco (via ED) that he does not plan to be playing for anyone except La Real, even if his €60m release clause is triggered.

Zubimendi said, “Where am I going to play next season? I’m going to be at Real Sociedad. I have a contract with Real Sociedad and that’s where I’m most comfortable.”

Zubimendi has a €60m release clause attached in his contract, an amount that multiple clubs will find no problem in meeting, however, it looks clear where the player’s priorities lie.
