Arsenal favourites to sign Mikel Merino this summer

The Gunners have made Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino their next top summer target after completing a move for Riccardo Calafiori. Arsenal are in the market for a left-sided midfielder and Merino fits the profile in Arteta’s setup.

The North London giants have been linked with the Spaniard for the last few weeks and the Basque club reportedly wants £25 million for the Spanish international’s services. Merino has one year left on his contract and is leaning towards a departure this summer.

Arsenal will have to initiate talks with the player’s representatives for an agreement on personal terms and Merino would be the perfect partner to Declan Rice at the heart of midfield.
