Their journey began with a 2-0 victory over Canada which was then followed by a 1-0 win against Chile and a 2-0 triumph over Peru. Despite missing their captain Lionel Messi due to a groin/thigh injury, Argentina’s solid defense and effective attack secured their place in the quarterfinals.

Messi Injury and Return to Training
The major concern for Argentina is the uncertainty surrounding Lionel Messi’s availability. Messi provided a key assist in the win against Canada and missed the final group game against Peru due to injury.
Although he has returned to full training but his participation against Ecuador remains doubtful. Argentina’s all-time top scorer with 108 goals in 184 caps also known as the GOAT – Lionel Messi aims to recover in time to lead his team to another international trophy.
Argentina will face Ecuador (who finished second in Group B) at the NRG Stadium in the quarterfinals. Fans and teammates alike hope for Messi’s swift recovery to boost their chances in this crucial match.
