Antonio Conte Eyes Romelu Lukaku for Napoli as Roma Stint Nears End
Romelu Lukaku’s time at Roma is almost certainly coming to an end, thus Serie A powerhouse Napoli may have an opportunity to sign him in the summer.
Romelu Lukaku Could Reunite with Antonio Conte
Lukaku is now on loan from Chelsea to Roma; the Giallorossi own a buyout option, but it’s unlikely to be used this summer. Lukaku is expected to return to Chelsea in the summer, at which point his future will likely be resolved.
Federico Chiesa could join Roma next summer, according to a report from La Repubblica yesterday on the Belgian’s future. This is especially possible if Lukaku leaves in the summer. For Chiesa, Juventus may take a payment of almost €30 million plus bonuses.
However, a glimmer of hope for Lukaku’s future arises with the prospect of Antonio Conte taking the reins at Napoli. Should Conte secure the managerial position at the Partenopei, he may seek to reunite with Lukaku, a player he has previously coached at Inter Milan and Chelsea.
Italian media sources suggest that Conte’s potential arrival could pave the way for Lukaku’s transfer to Napoli, with the striker open to the idea of joining forces with his former mentor once again.
As the summer transfer window approaches, the saga surrounding Lukaku’s future continues to unfold, with Napoli emerging as a potential destination should Conte’s appointment materialize.
