Club Career

In 2020: Following an impressive season that saw the U21 Manchester United side lift the 2020-21 EFL Trophy, Anthony Elanga was promoted to the club’s senior team. The Swedish international made his senior professional debut in a friendly game between Manchester United and Aston Villa.

In 2022: Elanga showed some glimpses of his potential but the then United manager, Erik ten Hag didn’t allow him too much time on the field ahead of other attackers. His penalty miss against Middlesbrough, resulting in the Red Devils’ exit from the FA Cup tie, also damaged the relationship between him and the coach. Despite his playing minutes being curtailed, Elanga scored his first UEFA Champions League goal against Atletico Madrid.

In 2023: At the end of the season, Nottingham Forest announced that they had signed Elanga on a five-year deal. His first goal for them came in a crucial 1-0 away win over Chelsea.

International Career

Elanga has been very direct toward his Sweden connection despite a chance to play for either England or Cameroon. But, the Nottingham Forest forward chose his Swedish identity and has presented the country at both youth and senior level.
