Ange Postecoglou ensures Lucas Bergvall’s injury was not serious
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou cools down the anxiety following the injury of Lucas Bergvall. The Swedish teenager suffered a knock and was forced to leave the pitch after just 24 minutes in a game against Queen’s Park Rangers.
Bergvall was given a chance to show his worth since the beginning of the match at Loftus Park. This happened after his impressive display in a victory against Hearts where Spurs won with five goals to one.
The gaffer is not worried
Postegoclou said that the injury was not serious. “He’s just a bit sore,” he said via BBC. For him – and for Archie [Gray] – the way we train is all new. “We’ve got to look after them but I don’t think it’s anything significant.”
The Australian gaffer has been impressed with the progress Bergvall has shown so far. Since coming from Djurgarden in the second half of last season, Bergvall had not been given enough playing time, and this summer, Postecoglou has a plan for him.
“He’s been chomping at the bit to get across here. He’s come in and looked really good in training, I’m pleased to have him as part of the group.”
Bergvall came with a €10 million price tag and is yet to have a single appearance for Tottenham in a competitive game. Spurs seem to not take any risks by forcing him to play after the knock and examine the player’s condition for the upcoming game.
