Al Nassr confirms Cristiano Ronaldo injury, Set to Miss Clash with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami
Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr have confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will miss their upcoming clash against Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami.
This is as per reports from Bleacher Report Football, who relayed the news released by the Saudi club earlier today.
The news will come as a shock to fans across the globe who were hoping to see the pair face off in the ongoing Riyadh Season Cup.
Messi and Miami were already in action in a nail-biting encounter with Al Hilal. Despite losing 4-3, the Argentine will be pleased with a goal and an assist.
However, fans are unlikely to see their other hero Cristiano Ronaldo in action. Al Nassr manager Luis Castro also informed the press that Ronaldo is in the final stages of recovery and will join the squad soon.
The Saudi club had earlier scheduled two friendlies in China as part of their tour last week. They were to face Shanghai Shenhua (Jan 24) and then Zheijang (Jan 28).
However, the club pushed to have those games postponed after finding out about Cristiano Ronaldo’s muscle injury.
Both the club and the player have since reiterated that the friendlies have not been canceled. They will be rescheduled at the earliest convenience for all clubs involved.
While Cristiano Ronaldo will surely miss the game against Inter Miami, he could return to action in the friendly against SPL leaders Al Hilal on February 8.
