Acun Ilicali Challenges New Hull City Coach Tim Walter

Walter to Lead Hull City on July 1

Tim Walter will officially become the head coach of Hull City on July 1. This is subject to him obtaining a visa.

The German coach will replace Liam Rosenior, who brings experience from managing Hamburg, Stuttgart, and Holstein Kiel. Walter left Hamburg with a 49 percent win ratio.

Aiming for the Play-Offs

Owner Acun Ilicali has set a clear goal for Walter. He wants the new coach to lead Hull City into the Championship play-offs next season.

“Our first target is to play good football,” Ilicali told Sky Sports. “After that, like every Championship team, our aim is to go to the play-offs and promotion.”

Ilicali is confident in Walter’s ability to bring an exciting and attacking style of play. He believes this approach will help the team build on their seventh-placed finish last season.

“You have to play good football and entertain the fans. You want them to enjoy it,” Ilicali added.

High Hopes from Walter

According to Hull City chairman Ilicali, Walter was always the top choice for the position.

“We had many strong applicants and wanted to be thorough in our recruitment process, but it quickly became clear that Tim was the outstanding candidate,” Ilicali said on the club’s website.

He is optimistic about the future under Walter’s leadership.

“I believe in Tim’s philosophy and, in doing so, I am hopeful that over the forthcoming season he can continue our positive progress and upward trajectory,” Ilicali stated.

Walter’s backroom staff will be finalized soon. Fans are eager to see how Walter’s approach will impact the team’s performance and if they can achieve their play-off ambitions.
