Tijjani Reijnders

However, the Dutchman’s contributions cannot only be measured in stats. He is the main creative force for the team and almost every bit of play goes through him. Reijnders scored the only goal in their 1-0 win over Venezia last time out and will be keen to add to his tally on Sunday.

Artem Dovbyk

Roma spent a reported fee of around €30.5 million to sign Artem Dovbyk from Girona in the summer after his excellent season last season. While he is the Italian side’s top scorer this season, he’s still failed to replicate his prolific numbers so far.

Dovbyk has scored nine goals and provided two assists in 22 games across competitions this season. He has scored three goals and provided one assist in his last three appearances for Roma. The Ukrainian will be keen to keep his run going against AC Milan on Sunday.

Both sides are clearly underperforming this season but appear to have found some form in recent weeks. AC Milan have lost just once in their last 11 games across competitions and are unbeaten in their last three games.

Milan beat Red Star Belgrade 2-1 in the Champions League before drawing 0-0 against Genoa and beating Venezia 1-0, both in Serie A. Roma, meanwhile, have won four and lost one of their last five games. They have shown some improvement since Claudio Ranieri took over as manager.

They lost 2-0 against Como but beat Sampdoria 4-1 in the Coppa Italia and beat Parma 5-0 in Serie A in their last two games. Fair to say, they are in excellent goalscoring form.

Sunday’s clash will likely be an entertaining battle. While AC Milan have a home advantage, they also have loads of key players like Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic missing. Hence, Roma should be able to edge out a win.
