AC Milan Reach Agreement with Fabio Paratici Inspite of Spurs Interest
AC Milan and Fabio Paratici have agreed with the former Tottenham chief to become the Rossoneri’s new sporting director, as per reports. Paratici, who previously held the position of Sporting Director at Juventus and was the lead in transfers at Spurs, is expected to be officially appointed Milan’s sporting director in the upcoming weeks after successful negotiations took place between both parties on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, he met with Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani in London to discuss the transition, even with Daniel Levy’s efforts to have him return to North London once his FIFA ban had concluded.
Sky Sport Italia reports that Paratici, 52, has settled terms with Milan and will take on his new position at the start of the 2025-26 season. Di Marzio has indicated that all necessary legal formalities will be finalized within the coming weeks, which means an official club announcement might occur in the next few months.
Fabio Paratici’s decision
Paratici is currently under a 30-month ban, which is set to end in July 2025. He received this ban due to misconduct during his tenure at Juventus and was convicted of falsifying financial records. However, now that his ban is nearing its end, Paratici is set to re-enter Serie A after a four-year absence. He left Juventus in 2021 after serving 11 years, during which the club won nine Serie A titles.
One of his initial tasks at Milan will be the selection of a new head coach for the 2025-26 season. Recent reports suggest that Marseille’s Roberto De Zerbi is the top candidate for the role. Nonetheless, Paratici is likely to have his perspectives on the type of manager he wishes to bring to San Siro.
