Kalvin started his career at the academy of Leeds United. He worked hard and rose through the ranks. In the summer of 2014, he was rewarded with his first professional contract.

Phillips started to make the first team as a substitute and on April 6, 2015, he made his professional debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Phillips scored his first senior goal in his second match itself. Phillips then became an integral part of the team and his career took off to a new level after the arrival of the legendary Marcelo Bielsa.

Phillips was the lynchpin of the Bielsa’s system. Playing the deep-lying playmaker role, Phillips was the heart of this team, he dictated the pace of the game. His performances played an important role in the promotion of Leeds United from the Championship to the Premier League.
