A player who has been making the headlines in the recent game is Fiorentina star, Edoardo Bove. He collapsed on the pitch in Florence on Sunday during his team’s Serie A game vs Inter Milan. After the 22-year-old fell to the floor, the medical teams rushed onto the ground and the players and staff from both teams formed a circle, and the match was suspended.

Bove bent down to take off his boot when he suddenly collapsed and the play was stopped. According to local media reports everyone around the midfielder were in tears. He was taken to the hospital and reports suggest that he is breathing on his own.

He was born in Rome but his paternal family origin belonged to Naples, while his mother is German-Italian. He studied at the Massimo institute in Rome’s neighbourhood EUR. As life would have it he is currently on loan to Fiorentina from AS Roma, where his contract runs until 2028.

During the summer of 2024-25, Edoardo Bove was sent on loan to Fiorentina by his parent club, AS Roma, which expires on June 30, 2025. Bove joined Roma after he was selected from a successful trial under the supervision of former Italian player and manager Bruno Conti. He was first called up for AS Roma against Young Boys in the Europa League. He made his professional debut for the club against Cortone in May 2021 at the Stadio Olimpico as a substitute. In December 2023 his contract was extended until 2028 and he is currently on loan at Fiorentina.
