La Liga side Granada CF join list of clubs interested in loaning Manchester United starlet

La Liga side Granada have reportedly joined PSV Eindhoven in the race to secure Manchester United starlet Facundo Pellistri’s signature in a loan deal.

This is as per reports from Fabrizio Romano, who has added that a decision on the player’s short-term future could be made in the upcoming days. His report also adds that the player has given the ‘green light’ for his camp to begin discussing a possible move to Granada.

Twenty-two-year-old Pellistri came through the youth ranks at Penarol, before joining Manchester United in 2020. Since then, he has been loaned out to Alaves twice, and has made somewhat of a positive impression in La Liga considering Granada are interested.

The Uruguayan has made 24 appearances for Manchester United’s first team, providing two assists in the process. However, he is nowhere near breaking into the starting XI and a loan spell away from the club could improve his chances of developing consistently.

Facundo Pellistri, Manchester United

Pellistri predominantly prefers playing as a right-winger, with the ability to also play as a second striker or an attacking midfielder. Standing at nearly six feet tall, he is agile, strong and also pacey – a trifecta of deadly traits that could make him a great forward should he put in the work. Pellistri is predominantly right-footed but can use his weak foot fairly well.

The player’s current contract with Manchester United runs until 2025, with an option to extend for an additional year. However, being just 22 and age clearly on his side, it is likely that United will keep him on their books a while longer to monitor his development. He could be sent out for another loan spell, which if unsuccessful, could potentially lead to a sale.

If not, the Red Devils would have done what they are renowned for by creating another quality player from scratch.
