Lamine Yamal becomes youngest goal-scorer in El Classico as Barcelona rout Real Madrid 4-0 at Santiago Bernabeu

Spanish forward Lamine Yamal, who turned 17 in July has left the Santiago Bernabeu stunned with his class while Barcelona were already 2-0 up in Saturday’s El Classico. Around the 77th minute mark, Yamal got on the end of Raphinha’s pass and drilled the ball past Real Madrid goalkeeper, Andriy Lunin with his weak foot to make the score 3-0. This goal made him the youngest goal-scorer in the history of the clash.

Yamal broke the record of fellow Barcalona footballer Alfonso Navarro in men’s football. Navarro was 17 years and 356 days old when he scored against Real Madrid while Yamal is 17 years and 106 days old.

Dark Faces at the Santiago Bernabeu

Yamal’s goal was not the end of the game as weak defending from Carlo Ancelotti’s side allowed Raphinha to get in behind and loop an effort over Lunin making it 4-0 and ending a humiliating night for the reigning Spanish and European champions. Hansi Flick and his team not only thrashed their arch-rival at their home but also snapped their 42-match unbeaten streak to keep them short of the Blaugrana’s all-time record.

Real Madrid star forward Kylian Mbappe played his first El Classico but was consistently outwitted by Flick’s high defensive line. The French forward thought he had broken the deadlock when he got behind and finished it over Barcelona goalkeeper Inaki Pena with a dink, but the goal was ruled offside.
