Everton close in on a transfer for Lyon midfielder

As per ‘Fabrizio Romano‘, Premier League club Everton is closing in on a transfer deal for Ligue 1 side Lyon’s defensive midfielder Oriel Mangala. Romano has laid out that the Belgian player is likely to join the Toffees in a loan deal which could include a ‘buy option clause’.

Sean Dyche’s Everton obviously sold Amadou Onana earlier in the window to Aston Villa. Since then reports have touted that the club’s hierarchy has been on the lookout for someone with similar caliber in the midfield.

Oriel Mangala could give the Toffees’ midfield a bite which they have been lacking since the start of the new Premier League season. Whether Everton can get this one over the line before the window shuts, remains to be seen.
