Giorgi Mamardashvili officially completes Liverpool move from Valencia
Giorgi Mamardashvili has officially completed his move from Valencia to Liverpool. The Reds have spent 30 million Euros plus five million Euros in add-ons for the Georgia shot-stopper. Mamardashvili will arrive at Anfield in 2025 as he’ll spend the 2024-25 season on loan at Valencia.
Mamardashvili has been one of the best La Liga goalkeepers in recent times. The 23-year-old has kept 31 clean sheets in 102 appearances for Valencia. He was instrumental for Georgia during Euro 2024 and grabbed eyeballs with his performance during the 2-0 group stage win against Portugal.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported about Mamardashvili’s move:
“Official, confirmed. Giorgi Mamardashvili joins Liverpool on €30m deal plus €5m add-ons from Valencia. He’s joining the club in July 2025, staying on loan at Valencia.”
Mamardashvili becomes Liverpool’s first signing under Arne Slot. The Reds now have three stellar goalkeepers, Alisson Becker, Caoimhin Kelleher, and Mamardashvili. The Georgian will compete for the number-one spot from next season.
