Manchester United’s Transfer Drama: Ugarte deal hangs in the balance as fresh bid rejected

Manchester United are racing against the clock to finalize their squad before the summer transfer window closes. With a focus on strengthening their midfield the Red Devils have set their sights on Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte but the deal is proving tricky.

Ugarte Deal Faces Delay

United and PSG have been in discussions for weeks with both clubs keen on a permanent move. But a loan with an obligation to buy is still on the table as United faces the challenge of making sales to fund the transfer.

Ugarte is eager to join Old Trafford and personal terms are reportedly not an issue. But with the window closing soon any move might be delayed until United can offload more players.

The recent sale of Facundo Pellistri to Panathinaikos for £5.1 million could be the first of several departures needed to balance the books.

Speculation also surrounds Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford with Barcelona reportedly interested in both players. Sancho’s potential departure could be key to securing Ugarte’s signature.

Rejected Bid for Ederson

In another transfer twist, United’s £42 million bid for Atalanta’s Brazilian midfielder Ederson was turned down.

The club had initially inquired about the player while completing the signing of Rasmus Hojlund last year but their recent approach has failed to convince the Italian side to part with the 25-year-old.

United’s interest in bolstering their squad doesn’t stop there. Reports suggest they are eyeing Barcelona’s Andreas Christensen to further strengthen their defense.

The former Chelsea player who came off the bench in Barca’s 2-1 win over Valencia could be available as the Spanish club looks to offload players.

As the transfer window draws to a close, Manchester United are under pressure to secure the right deals to complete their squad. With time running out the next few days could be decisive for Erik ten Hag and his team.
