Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong could stay at the club this summer, revealed Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg on X. He wrote that no transfer is on the cards for now as the Dutchman is not in negotiations with any other side. Rumors had been swirling that Manchester United are looking to reunite him to his former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, with the Red Devils also looking to bolster their midfield options.

However, with no solid interest, from them or any other side, De Jong, whose contract with the La Liga giants runs until 2026, could likely stay put in Catalonia. Plettenberg also stated that new Barca coach Hansi Flick holds the player in high regard and counts on him to deliver for the side this season.
