Tammy Abraham not in AS Roma plans, might join Saudi Pro League

Multiple Saudi Pro League clubs are trying to attract another star player featuring in the top leagues of Europe. As per reports in La Repubblica, sensational 26-year-old English forward Tammy Abraham might join a club from Saudi Arabia’s top-division football soon.

Abraham, who joined AS Roma from Premier League giants Chelsea for a mammoth transfer fee of €41m in August 2021, is reportedly out of Daniele De Rossi’s plan for the ongoing season. As per reports, AS Roma is asking for around €25m to sell the player and several Saudi Pro League clubs are willing to sign him.

The centre-forward had a magnificent first season with AS Roma, having 21 goal contributions in 37 Serie A games. But, the Englishman has failed to ignite in the past few seasons, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in Serie A 2022-23 and only managing two goal contributions in the last season of the league. He only featured in eight games last season, missing the rest of the league matches for a serious cruciate ligament injury.

AS Roma have spent millions to add Artem Dovbyk from Girona in this transfer window, so it is expected that he would be at the center of all plans and Tammy Abraham might be neglected. So, a way out for Abraham along with star playmaker Paulo Dybala (whose departure has been speculated for long)  is expected to happen soon.

These moves will also help the Italian club to better their finances, as they spent heavily to secure deals with Dovbyk, Matias Soule, and Enzo Le Fee, while not making much from the player sales yet.
