Liverpool do not want to sell Joe Gomez to Newcastle United this summer
The English defender is currently the longest-serving player in the Liverpool squad and enjoyed a brilliant 2023/24 campaign under Jurgen Klopp. Gomez played as a left-back for the majority of the season due to the absence of Andy Robertson.
But, new manager Arne Slot was ready to sell the versatile defender, suggesting a move to Newcastle United as part of a deal for Anthony Gordon earlier this summer. There have been reports that Liverpool agreed to a £45 million deal to sell Gomez, but the move collapsed.
The Reds have now changed their stance on the English defender who still has three years remaining on his contract.
