Barcelona unlikely to match Man City’s asking price for João Cancelo

The Portuguese international’s hopes of continuing another season at Camp Nou are fading as Barcelona are reportedly not willing to match Man CIty’s asking price of £25M.

The Catalan Giants are currently prioritizing moves for Nico Williams and Dani Olmo. This puts them in a tough spot as they don’t have the required funds to sign the Portuguese full-back. Manager Hansi Flick is already assessing options at his disposal and would not prioritize a João Cancelo move.

The player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has been trying to work on a loan deal but City are reluctant to let the defender out on loan for another season and seeks a permanent exit for the Portuguese international.
