Real Madrid set sights on Alphonso Davies and Trent Alexander-Arnold

Reigning La Liga champions Real Madrid have already completed most of their transfer dealings for the 2024 summer window, and now they are reportedly beginning planning for their future signings.

One notable target is Alphonso Davies, who is currently in a contract dispute with Bayern Munich. With just a year left on his contract, Davies is unlikely to agree to a renewal. Although, Real Madrid initially considered pursuing him this summer, high demands by Bayern suggest a move might be more feasible next summer.

Another key target for Real Madrid is Trent Alexander-Arnold, the right-back from Liverpool. Alexander-Arnold’s contract also expires next summer and he has not yet decided on his future. Real Madrid is actively working to bring him to the Santiago Bernabéu.

Alexander-Arnold’s connection with his England teammate Jude Bellingham, who plies his trade with the Spanish giants could play a significant role in his decision. It is reported that Bellingham has been encouraging Alexander-Arnold to join him in Spain. Meanwhile, Liverpool is prioritising the renewal of Alexander-Arnold’s contract to keep him at Anfield.

Dani Ceballos Commits to Real Madrid

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have already let go of three key players, Toni Kroos, Nacho Fernandez, and Joselu Mato. It seems unlikely that any more players will leave this summer, though Dani Ceballos, who was dissatisfied with his limited playing time last season was a potential candidate to depart. Ceballos featured in only about half of Real Madrid’s matches last season. However, with Kroos now gone and no immediate replacement lined up, Ceballos could see more playing time in the 2024-25 season.

Despite earlier rumours about a possible move, Marca reports that Ceballos is now committed to staying at Real Madrid. His opportunity to impress manager Carlo Ancelotti will come during the pre-season tour in the United States, where he and Luka Modric are the only senior central midfielders present.
