Teary-eyed Endrick officially unveiled by Real Madrid
Brazilian teenager Endrick was unveiled formally by Real Madrid on Saturday following his €35 million move from Sao Paulo-based Palmeiras. The 18-year-old teenager agreed to move to Bernabeu back in 2022 and has now penned a six-year contract with the European champions.
The 18-year-old was very emotional during his presentation at the Bernabeu telling fans about his childhood dream of playing for the Galacticos. Also in attendance were his parents, extended family, and girlfriend who were flown to Madrid for the occasion.
During his official speech, Endrick’s father could hold back his tears as the forward shared a heart-wrenching story from his childhood.
Endrick wants to spend his entire career at Real Madrid
The young forward who just turned 18 last week made his international debut at the age of 17 against Colombia last November. More than 40,000 fans attended the event as Florentino Perez welcomed Real’s latest young talent.
A product of the Palmeiras academy, Endrick became the youngest male player to score an international goal at Wembley.
“This is crazy,” Endrick said. “I am so happy, since I was a kid I have always been a Madrid fan and now I am going to play for Madrid.
“I am here, I am going to play, I am so happy, my family are as well. I don’t have words to describe what I am feeling. I always wanted to be here. I wanted to play for Madrid. It was a dream. Today it is a reality.
“I am grateful to everyone. Now we are going to sing a chant together, I am sure you will all sing with me: Three, two, one… ‘Hala Madrid.’
“I won’t lie, I did not expect all this, so many people.”
