Mohammed Kudus to Liverpool: Arne Slot’s Assistant Coach gives the Reds edge in pursuit of the West Ham forward

As laid down by ‘The Mirror’, Premier League club Liverpool’s pursuit of West Ham United’s Ghana international forward Mohammed Kudus currently stands at a promising spot and it is due to Arne Slot’s new Assistant Coach Johnny Heitinga.

Now the report signifies that Johnny had worked with Kudus at West Ham under the club’s former manager David Moyes and has good relations with the player. The Reds’ Assistant Coach could have a say in persuading the Ghanaian player to join the Merseyside club this summer.

Mohammed Kudus stood out as an exceptional player for the Hammers in the last Premier League season. The 23-year-old had 14 goal contributions to his name (eight goals and six assists) in the previous English top-flight campaign. Now it is worth mentioning that Kudus has a hefty release clause of about £85 million at West Ham. His current contract with the Hammers does run till June 28.

Liverpool are now in hope that Johnny Heitinga’s appointment as their new Assistant Coach, could churn up an advantageous interest within Kudus to join them going into the new Premier League season. A player of his ability could significantly enhance Arne Slot’s squad strength. Mohammed Kudus can play as a right-winger, and an attacking midfielder, and if the situation demands, he can contribute as a make-shift center-forward too.

Whether Liverpool will go all out for him in the upcoming days, remains to be witnessed.
