Real Sociedad close in on signing €9m Manchester City star

With Javi Galan and Kieran Tierney returning back to their parent clubs, Real Sociedad have been aggressively tackling the transfer market in search of a new left-back.

With Aihen Munoz still out with an ACL injury, Sociedad were negotiating with Manchester City in order to sign their left-back Sergio Gomez, and as per Relevo, a fee of €9m has been agreed upon by the two clubs, which will include the Premier League champions retaining a 25% sell-on clause.

Gomez has failed to establish himself in Pep Guardiola’s star-studded treble winning side and a move away from the club looks like a logical solution for the talented left-back. Gomez will be Sociedad’s eighth left-back signing in the last five years.
