As we approach Gameweek 12 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL), only two pre-match press conferences, led by Messrs Dyche and Kompany on Thursday, have provided insights into early team and injury updates. 

This initial overview encompasses all 20 Premier League teams, incorporating the latest information from midweek European matches. For more in-depth information as the deadline approaches, please keep a check on all the press conferences going to take place in the coming hours.

Wolves vs Tottenham

In the upcoming match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur, Destiny Udogie and Cristian Romero face suspensions—Udogie for one match and Romero for three following their red cards against Chelsea. The recent loss to Chelsea also saw James Maddison and Micky van de Ven leaving the game due to injuries, with van de Ven’s hamstring issue appearing quite significant according to Ange Postecoglou.

Manor Solomon, Ivan Perisic, and Ryan Sessegnon continue to be sidelined due to knee and hamstring problems. Ben Davies’ absence in Gameweek 11 due to a knock prompts waiting for news on his condition. Additionally, Richarlison has mentioned the need for pelvic surgery, but the timing of the operation, whether before the Wolves match or during the international break, remains uncertain.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will have to do without Joe Hodge due to a shoulder injury, as well as Hugo Bueno with a knee issue and Pedro Neto nursing a hamstring problem.

Arsenal vs Burnley

Ahead of the Arsenal versus Burnley match, several players will be sidelined. Thomas Partey is out with a muscle injury, while Jurrien Timber and Emile Smith Rowe are both dealing with knee problems. Gabriel Jesus, despite potential readiness, remains likely to be absent despite being named in the Brazil squad for upcoming internationals, adding a twist to the situation.

Martin Odegaard has missed the last two matches due to a hip concern, while Eddie Nketiah was absent in the recent win over Sevilla due to a knock. Additionally, Bukayo Saka had to leave the same match due to a knock.

Burnley provided an update on Lyle Foster, who has been dealing with mental health issues and has been absent recently.

Aaron Ramsey, sidelined due to a knock, hasn’t received any recent updates on his condition.

On a more positive note, Manuel Benson, Hjalmar Ekdal, and Michael Obafemi all played for the under-21s, but Ekdal seems most likely to be involved, considering his recovery from a knee issue. Josh Cullen is back from suspension.

Crystal Palace vs Everton

In the upcoming match between Crystal Palace and Everton, Crystal Palace faces some injury concerns. Players like Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, Dean Henderson, Nathan Ferguson, and James Tomkins are out due to various injuries. However, Michael Olise might make a comeback as he was expected to resume full team training before the international break in November.

Everton are looking to have Seamus Coleman back in action after his recovery from a knee injury. Despite featuring for the under-21s last weekend to regain match fitness, manager Sean Dyche suggested that the Selhurst Park game might be too soon for his return.

Dele Alli and Andre Gomes are still out due to long-term injuries concerning their hip and calf, respectively. On the positive side, Amadou Onana, Jarrad Branthwaite, and Abdoulaye Doucoure have been training and are likely to be fit for the game.

Manchester United vs Luton Town

For the match between Manchester United and Luton Town, Manchester United continues to face absences due to various reasons. Jadon Sancho is out due to disciplinary reasons, while Luke Shaw, Amad Diallo, and Tyrell Malacia remain sidelined because of muscle and knee issues.

Manager Erik ten Hag confirmed that the return of Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez is not expected in 2023 due to their respective ankle and foot injuries. Additionally, Jonny Evans might also be added to the list of absentees after sustaining a possible muscular injury during the game against Copenhagen.

Luton Town encountered a shortage of six players in their previous game. Luke Berry, Daniel Potts, Mads Andersen, Amari’i Bell, Reece Burke, and Albert Sambi Lokonga were all unavailable due to various injuries. However, Jordan Clark, recovering from an ankle issue, returned as an unused substitute in the last game.

Bournemouth vs Newcastle United

Ahead of the Bournemouth versus Newcastle United game, Newcastle is dealing with a high number of injured players. Harvey Barnes, Jacob Murphy, Elliot Anderson, Matt Targett, and Dan Burn are facing longer-term injuries. Additionally, Bruno Guimaraes is suspended for the upcoming match, while Sandro Tonali serves a 10-month suspension.

Sven Botman might remain sidelined as the club assesses the need for potential surgery for his knee issue. Alexander Isak is not expected to return before the November international break due to a groin problem. Fringe players Javier Manquillo and Alex Murphy have been out due to groin and hamstring problems, respectively.

There’s a possible new addition to the injury list with Callum Wilson being substituted at half-time in the previous game due to hamstring tightness.

For Bournemouth, Tyler Adams and Murara Neto are still out due to hamstring and ankle issues. Ryan Fredericks and Emiliano Marcondes are nearing a return but haven’t joined team training as of last week due to calf and foot problems, respectively.

Andoni Iraola mentioned that backup goalkeeper Darren Randolph has been unavailable due to a health issue. Alex Scott sustained a knee injury in the last match, with the severity still being assessed for a recovery timeline. On a brighter note, Lewis Cook returns after serving a three-match ban.

Aston Villa vs Fulham

For the Aston Villa versus Fulham match, Aston Villa continues to miss Tyrone Mings and Emi Buendia due to knee injuries, potentially keeping them out for the entirety of the 2023/24 season. Jacob Ramsey is also expected to remain sidelined until the international break due to a foot injury.

John Duran, recovering from a toe issue, is back in contention, and despite Diego Carlos coming off late in the game against AZ, manager Unai Emery believes the problem isn’t too severe. Matty Cash has promptly recovered from a shoulder injury to be included in Villa’s squad for their UEFA Europa Conference League clash against AZ Alkmaar.

Fulham’s Issa Diop is still out with a foot injury, while Tosin Adarabioyo, Adama Traore, and Kenny Tete are nearing returns after narrowly missing the last match against Manchester United. However, the recent worry for Fulham is Rodrigo Muniz, who had to leave the game against Manchester United due to a knee injury, visibly upset.

Fulham: Leno, Castagne, Bassey, Ream, Robinson, Reed, João Palhinha, Decordova-Reid, Iwobi, Willian, Carlos Vinicius.

Brighton vs Sheffield United

In the upcoming Brighton and Hove Albion versus Sheffield United game, Brighton faces several injury setbacks. Solly March, Danny Welbeck, Julio Enciso, and surprisingly Tariq Lamptey, despite showing signs of recovery, are out due to various knee and muscle issues. Jakub Moder, who has been sidelined for 18 months due to a knee problem, is currently regaining match fitness by playing with the under-21s.

Pervis Estupinan was deemed fit for the UEFA Europa League clash with Ajax but, unfortunately, was one of three players subbed off due to injuries, alongside Lewis Dunk and James Milner. However, manager Roberto De Zerbi doesn’t believe their injuries are serious.

Sheffield United, on the other hand, has several players on the injury list, including John Egan, Tom Davies, Chris Basham, Rhys Norrington-Davies, and Daniel Jebbison. On a brighter note, Max Lowe, Oli McBurnie, and Anel Ahmedhodzic were scheduled to return to training this week.

Rhian Brewster and Gustavo Hamer faced injury concerns during the previous match against Wolves. However, coach Paul Heckingbottom mentioned that Brewster’s knee discomfort was minor and planned, indicating he was set to come off during the game anyway.

Liverpool vs Brentford

Ahead of the Liverpool versus Brentford match, Liverpool is facing significant midfield challenges. Andrew Robertson remains sidelined with a shoulder injury and is expected to be out until the New Year. Stefan Bajcetic and Thiago Alcantara are long-term absentees due to calf and hip issues, respectively.

Curtis Jones is also out with a minor hamstring injury, and Alexis Mac Allister is suspended following five yellow cards. There’s also doubt surrounding Ryan Gravenberch due to a knee problem. However, Virgil van Dijk, who missed the Toulouse game due to illness, is likely to be available for the upcoming match.

Brentford is missing Josh Dasilva, Aaron Hickey, Kevin Schade, Rico Henry, and Ivan Toney, with Toney serving a suspension. But there are positive signs as Keane Lewis-Potter and Mikkel Damsgaard were expected to partially return to team training after their calf and knee issues.

Shandon Baptiste has been gaining match fitness by featuring for the B team and might be involved. Additionally, Mark Flekken is anticipated to recover from a dead leg that led to his substitution in the last game.

Brentford: Flekken, Ajer, Collins, Pinnock, Roerslev, Jensen, Norgaard, Onyeka, Janelt, Mbeumo, Wissa

West Ham vs Nottingham Forest

For the West Ham United versus Nottingham Forest match, West Ham sees the return of Lucas Paqueta and Edson Alvarez from suspension, although the fitness of Kurt Zouma, who missed the previous game, is still being monitored.

Nottingham Forest remains without Divock Origi, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Chris Wood, and Gonzalo Montiel due to hip, hamstring, and calf injuries. Felipe, although seen training, didn’t feature in the last game due to a knee problem.

There’s a concern for Harry Toffolo, who was substituted off in the previous game against Aston Villa. Further updates on his condition are awaited in Steve Cooper’s press conference.

In the upcoming Chelsea versus Manchester City match, Kevin De Bruyne remains sidelined with a hamstring injury, expected to be out for the medium term. Sergio Gomez is also not likely to return until after the November international break due to an ankle issue.

For Manchester City, the recent win over Young Boys resulted in Manuel Akanji withdrawing from the starting lineup due to a back problem, while John Stones had to be substituted at half-time with a more serious-looking muscle injury.

On the Chelsea side, there are multiple absentees: Ben Chilwell, Romeo Lavia, Christopher Nkunku, Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah, and Carney Chukwuemeka are all expected to be out. Mauricio Pochettino had hoped to have Armando Broja on the bench for their match against Spurs, but the player, receiving treatment for knee irritation, ultimately did not make the squad.
