Arsenal to honor ‘Invincibles’ on final Premier League matchday

Arsenal to honor ‘Invincibles’: Arsene Wenger have been invited

Arsenal are set to honor the ‘Invincibles’ after their final Premier League matchday against Everton. Players of the 2003-04 season, when the Gunners won the league title after going unbeaten their entire campaign, have been called up for the event, and so have their staff members, including manager Arsene Wenger.

Wenger was the architect of their historic Premier League triumph 20 years ago, as their record of going all 38 games without a loss remains unmatched by any side in the competition’s history. Unfortunately, that was also his last title success in the league, as Arsenal couldn’t add another medal to their collection again under the Frenchman.

Even after his departure in 2018, Arsenal have consistently fallen short on luck in the league side. Last year, the north London outfit were cruising towards the league title, only to implode in the home stretch of their campaign. This season, the Gunners are once again competing for the title, but face tough competition from holders Manchester City again.

The ‘Invincibles’ success story will once again be revisited on 19 May 2024, and whether Arsenal celebrate that with another Premier League medal or not, it will surely be one to look forward to for the fans.

Arsenal and City locked in a two horse race

With Liverpool’s form tapering off lately, the Premier League title race has been reduced to a two horse race between Arsenal and Manchester City, who are taking it right down to the wire. The Gunners overcame Bournemouth 3-0 earlier this day in their 36th matchday, whereas City are currently cruising against Wolves at the time of writing, but have a game in hand over Arsenal and sit only a point behind them. Interesting days ahead.
