Manchester United Injury: Ten Hag issues Update on Rashford and McTominay ahead of Bournemouth clash
Manchester United Injury: Red Devils receive a boost with Marcus Rashford’s return
Manchester United are set to have striker Marcus Rashford back for their Premier League clash with Bournemouth tonight. He had limped away with a knock during their 2-2 draw with Liverpool last weekend, deepening manager Erik ten Hag’s injury list.
The Red Devils already have eight players out injured, and Rashford’s fitness issues threatened to shrink the Dutchman’s options further. But now, seems like that won’t be the case as the England international is set to play at the Vitality Stadium.
Scott McTominay, however, isn’t so lucky, as the Scotsman is still recovering from an injury. Speaking to the press ahead of the game, Ten Hag spoke of the two players saying:
“Scott, I don’t think so. We have a training training, so we have a day, he will push, he is so keen to be a part of it tomorrow, so it’s very questionable. Rashy trained yesterday, so how he recovered from it today, we have another training today and then we will make a decision on it.”
Rashford’s form has dropped this season, netting only seven times in the league from 30 games. Last season, he bagged 17 goals from 35 appearances as United finished inside the league’s top four.
Manchester United need to pick up wins
With only 15 wins and 49 points from 31 games, Manchester United are down in sixth position of the Premier League table, a massive 11 points behind the top-four. The Red Devils are running out of time to keep their Champions League hopes alive and must find their feet sooner rather than later.
